Stir Cove had something different for its concert goers on Wednesday night. Not your big name 80’s rock band or country singer. No, we got to enjoy a little EDM, or Electronic Dance Music, for those of you who are unfamiliar with this particular genre.
SOFI TUKKER opened up the night. The duo have only been around for 2 years, but have made great strides in getting their name out there. Coming from New York, you certainly would expect an eclectic sound. And that’s exactly what it was. Their first album just came out July 8th of this year. Check out Soft Animals and you will be surprisingly entertained.
M83 came on at about 9:15 and everyone was ready for them. The band formed in 2001 in Antibes, France and is currently based out of Los Angeles. And when I say band, I do mean it. Yes, they play electronic music, but with real instruments as well as their laptops. And dance music it was. The crowd of mainly young 20’s with a hint of season ticket holders definitely found their groove last night. You have probably heard this music before, but had no idea who it was. Well folks, M83 is worth your research and I recommend expanding your musical library with them.
It was an easy night at the Cove. No more than 1,500 people and they were there for the music. Lines were short and everyone was happy. Thanks again to Stir and staff for another great night!
