It’s hard to believe that I was sent to Stir Cove on Friday night to do a job. My job was to review a Beatle. A BEATLE. I am the luckiest girl in the world.
Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band stopped by the cove for what was one of my most anticipated shows of the season. I can’t believe it wasn’t sold out, it seemed as though the venue was bursting at the seams. There was not a still body in sight. Though I have had the pleasure of seeing them perform in the past, it was still such a privilege to be in the presence of such talent. The musicians that tour with Ringo are truly allstars. They include Toto’s Steve Lukather, Santana’s Gregg Rolie, Men at Work’s Colin Hay, multi-instrumentalist Warren Ham, drummer Gregg Bissonette; formerly of the David Lee Roth Band, and Hamish Stuart of The Average White Band. Hit after hit after hit mixed in with some incredible jam sessions. The band played several of Ringo’s hits and each member was given their own time to shine. It was a celebration of each artist’s achievements. I can’t explain to you how cool it is to see Ringo Starr play the drums for Toto’s Africa. Goosebumps, guys. If you ever have a chance to catch this compilation of incredibly talented and iconic entertainers, do not pass it up. Or call me, I’ll take your tickets!
I’m having trouble accepting that the season is winding down already. It really has been one for the books. But we’re not quite done yet. We even have a couple sold out shows remaining, including Blink 182! I’m so excited! Stir Cove, staff, and security, you guys are great as always! Peace and Love!
