The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is an s-curved cable-stayed footbridge connecting Council Bluffs, IA to downtown Omaha's riverfront, the longest footbridge to connect two states. The bridge opened on September 28, 2008, and is named after the Nebraska Senator who secured funding for the project, Senator Bob Kerrey. The bridge is a must-see for visitors, especially at night when the multi-colored lights turn on and shine across the water. There are plaques hightlighting the point over the Missouri River where the state lines meet, allowing those walking on the bridge to be in two state at once.
