Bela Fleck & Chris Thile
Holland Performing Arts Center
Premiere banjo player Béla Fleck joins musical forces with mandolinist, composer and vocalist Chris Thile for a must-see performance at the Holland Center! Both musicians have weaved remarkable careers in solo projects and Grammy Award®-winning collaborations.
Hailed for redefining American banjo music, Fleck is a powerfully creative force in bluegrass, jazz, pop and classical music. The recipient of multiple Grammys going back to 1998, Fleck has been nominated in more different musical categories than anyone in Grammy history.
A child prodigy, Thile rose to fame with acoustic trio Nickel Creek and later joined the progressive acoustic group Punch Brothers. With his broad outlook that encompasses classical, rock, jazz and bluegrass, the MacArthur Fellowship recipient transcends the borders of conventional genres, creating a distinctly American canon and a new musical aesthetic. Thile's talents also shine on the beloved public radio show "A Prairie Home Companion," for which he will succeed Garrison Keillor as host.
