Omaha-native Brenton Gomez, better known as Conny Franko gained attention in 2012 with his first release as Conchance on Make Believe Recordings titled, "Calm Kids". Starting with a love of skateboarding, poetry and later rhyming, he blended influences ranging from Nina Simone and Miles Davis to Common and Mos Def to create his own jazz infused, hard hitting style, colored by his urban surroundings. He has shared the stage with such notable acts as Slum Village, Blu, Mr. Lif, Egyptian Lover, Peanut Butter Wolf, Young Fathers, Black Milk, and been featured in NPR, Pitch, and Juxtapoz. When asked about his art, he muses,"Through my music, I want to provide knowledge and perspective. I want people to feel the relationship between the inner city dweller and the broke kid in the middle of the suburbs; see how these things translate. It's for the greater cause, for knowledge."
