Gombe & Beyond: An Evening with Dr. Jane Goodall

World-renowned conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall is coming to Omaha! Don't miss Gombe & Beyond: An Evening with Dr. Jane Goodall, a free* community event.

Dr. Goodall will lead audiences into the fascinating world of the Gombe chimpanzees - sharing her landmark observations and the latest stories from the field. She will also touch on her latest publication about plants, "Seeds of Hope," which explores interesting anomalies about the natural world and how we can protect the place we call home.

Audience members are encouraged to bring old and unused cellphones to this event for the Jane Goodall Institute to recycle them through their partner eco cell. A critical component of cell phone batteries is the mineral coltan and eighty percent of the world's supply of coltan is found in the Congo - the largest habitat for great apes. Cell phones donated at this event will help reduce the demand for coltan and raise funds for the conservation of wild chimpanzees.

*Tickets are required for this free event.

Dr. Jane Goodall and the Jane Goodall Institute do not endorse handling or interfering with wild chimpanzees. The chimpanzee featured in the photo is a rescue chimpanzee living at the Jane Goodall Institute's sanctuary.
