Saxophone Juice (Graham Ulicny)
Guerilla Toss shows are pure, unadulterated chaos of the best kind. The New York band, founded by five music school kids, hold back nothing, flailing and screaming with explosive energy as they play their dizzying art-punk numbers. In other words, their shows are really, really fun (if not great for your eardrums). They take inspiration from the excess of the club kid scene-"of losing your mind to rock 'n' roll," according to drummer Peter Negroponte. DFA, a label that knows something about partying, releases the band's next LP Eraser Stargazer this spring. As is always the case at Trans-Pecos, the lineup Guerilla Toss headlines is an eclectic but worthwhile one: supporting are math rockers Banned Books, experimental weirdos Dog, and Hermit Thrushes.
