▬▬▬▬ Ron Trent Bio ▬▬▬▬
Ron Trent is considered one of the architects of the Chicago house scene, as well as an architect of modern deep house. Trent's first release in 1990, named "Altered States," went on to gain instant international acclaim and has remained a bonafide house classic. His Prescription & Balance record labels helped define the deep house genre & introduced artists such as Anthony Nicholson, Glenn Underground (CVO), Moody Man, Norma Jean Bell, Peven Everett and Luke Solomon to the world.
Trent's early 00's sabbatical in NYC saw him grace the DJ booths at Body & Soul, Shelter & Vinyl. The cultural taste-making group known as Giant Step latched onto Ron, and together they formed a highly acclaimed Monday weekly that was a pioneer in blending neo-soul, jazz funk & world music into a dance formula. After a move back to Chicago, he founded the seminole party named Africa Hi-Fi at Sonotheque, which was the first Chicago event series to celebrate the Afro-house sound. As a music producer, he's worked alongside of Jill Scott, Tony Allen, 4Hero, Amp Fiddler & Erykah Badu.
