For nearly 25 years, the Jumbo Glacier Resort (JGR) has been proposed in the upper Jumbo Valley. JGR would encompass 6500 hectares, accessing 4 glaciers with more than 20 ski lifts and would operate year-round. The resort village would host more than 6500 beds. The people of the East Kootenays have been united in opposition to this resort since it was first proposed.

Set in the heart of British Columbia's Central Purcell Mountains, the Jumbo Valley provides critical habitat for grizzly bears and other roaming wildlife, moving north and south along the mountains, and crossing the international border to feed the endangered grizzly population in the US Cabinet Mountains.

Teeming with ski resorts operating under capacity, the East Kootenays do not need another ski resort! Least of all one in the middle of the wilderness and critical wildlife habitat!

Come see the struggle to keep Jumbo wild.
