About the Event

Lauritzen Gardens is proud to host the River City Cactus & Succulent Society's 31st annual show and sale. During this event, society members present their most prized specimens in a judged show and guests are able to purchase new cacti and succulents for their own collections.

During the show, trained and qualified judges award ribbons in four divisions- cactus, educational, specialty, and succulents. Awards within each division include 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as honorable mention, best of show, among others. The show is an incredible opportunity for guests to see and learn about a wide variety of plants, including many new and/or unusual specimens.

Guests can also purchase a wide array of cacti and succulents sold by Society members and from top growers from Oklahoma and Colorado.

Members of the River City Cactus & Succulent Society are also available throughout the weekend to answer any questions about the selection and care of cacti and succulents.

About the River City Cactus & Succulent Society

River City Cactus & Succulent Society was formed in 1980 for all those people who love rare and unusual succulent plants. Our monthly meetings feature educational speakers, slide presentations, field trips, workshops and an annual show & sale. This year will be our 31st show & sale. The Club is an affiliate of the National Cactus & Succulent Association. We share time with our sister clubs in Kansas City, MO and Des Moines IA. We attend regional and national conferences held yearly in various locations. While many people think we are a bit of a "thorny" group, we have a great time and encourage anyone with an interest in succulent to join us. Visit our Face Book page - River City Cactus & Succulent Society. Watch for our pending web site.
