Spoonfed Tribe combines indie-rock and art-rock into it's own hybrid sound, too easily categorized as "progressive" or "avant garde", and maybe best described as sounding like either "Nine Inch Nails meets Rusted Root" or "Alice In Chains meets Jane's Addiction". However, there is an unmistakable groove, fueled by a stage full of drums and percussion, and the live show-as much a visual as an auditory experience-often evolves into a mesmerizing, hypnotic, tranced-out dance party, punctuated by heavy guitar riffs and the lyrical content inspired by the band's stated mission: "Spoonfed Tribe is Us, it's You, and it's Everybody on this plane now. We are all spoon fed information and intention (Hidden or Shown). Our goal is to touch as many of you as possible through our Music and Words."
Since their inception in 1999, the Tribe has released eight records and toured throughout the country, performing at clubs and large gatherings such as Lollapalooza, High Sierra Music Festival, Joshua Tree Music Festival, Voodoo Music Experience and Wakarusa, sharing bills with a diverse mix of talent including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flaming Lips, Nine Inch Nails, Blues Traveler, Widespread Panic, Galactic, Filter and many others. Along the way they have built a loyal following and garnered critical acclaim and a handful of music awards, including the Fort Worth Weekly Music Award for "Best Hard Rock Band (2008)" and "Rock Album of the Year", for 2008's Public Service Announcement, as well as "Best Live Act" in 2009.
With a renewed emphasis on touring and a national agency at the wheel, Spoonfed Tribe has their sites set on consistent, multi-regional dates and follow-ups in 2015, working the Southern U.S. from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and into the Midwest and Mountain Regions.
